CDS Empore Carbon Activated Carbon Solid Phase Extraction Membrane
general information
Empore ™ Solid phase extraction (SPE) discs provide an effective alternative to liquid/liquid extraction for sample preparation. Using proprietary processes to trap adsorbent particles in an inert PTFE matrix to create mechanically stable adsorbent disks. Discs can be used for purifying and concentrating analytes in aqueous samples.
The Empore SPE disc provides a sample pretreatment solution for a large amount of water containing samples. The disc form provides a larger surface area for adsorbent/sample contact. The use of Empore solid-phase extraction disk can achieve high flow rate and high flux.
Product Information
Activated carbon extraction discs are designed for solid-phase extraction of highly polar compounds that are highly soluble in water, such as N-nitrosodimethylamine. And other volatile compounds that are not easily captured by solid-phase adsorbents (such as trihalomethanes).
Activated carbon provides one of the corrosive adsorbents that can be used for solid-phase extraction. The carbon surface is a complex combination of features, including positive and negative charges. When used in combination with high surface area, activated carbon can adsorb and retain soluble and volatile analytes.
